Put the chocolate in Mason jars. Fill the crock pot with water and turn the temp to low. It will take a little bit for the chocolate to melt. But once it is melted it will not harden sitting in the crock pot. I use this method when dipping pretzels etc. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07113940277226618508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4936031485106223695.post-77325283055248414442016-11-22T23:47:04.904-07:002016-11-22T23:47:04.904-07:00I'm not a great lover of melting any kind of ...I'm not a great lover of melting any kind of chocolate in the microwave. Have found the best way is using the good old stove top and double saucepan (or something similar). This method has never failed me and you have more control. One tip though is to make sure you don't get water in the chocolate. Hope this might help anyone with microwave problems.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4936031485106223695.post-22939605217874656022015-12-21T06:55:13.628-07:002015-12-21T06:55:13.628-07:00I found that I can get the chocolate to drizzle, b...I found that I can get the chocolate to drizzle, but after breaking apart, I still had a ton on the bottom that the chocolate didn't cover. To fix this I took the hardened "slab", flipped it over, then put all the loose pieces back on. I melted another bar and drizzled again. Sure, this whole dessert is sweet, but that's what the kids love! I microwaved it for for 20-30 second intervals checking the consistency and stirring with a wire whisk. Mrcrowaves are all different wattages and you need to be careful not to over heat or it won't pour nicely. I ended up at about 1 min 40 seconds . I had a recipe for making chocolate covered strawberries that had you add shortening and it worked great for a smooth consistency and help them set up better. I have added shortening ever since and had great luck. Mine poured great and spread quite well . Yes it's a super sweet candy, but most vanilla based candies are. The salty pretzels help tone it down though. You can basically add or leave out items based on your families tastes and yes milk chocolate would be yummy too !Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4936031485106223695.post-19807906884939614492014-12-30T07:34:30.942-07:002014-12-30T07:34:30.942-07:00Someone just gave us this recipe as a Christmas pr...Someone just gave us this recipe as a Christmas present it was awesome. So what I did was put the melted chocolate in a zip lock bag, cut a TINY bit of the corner off and drizzled it that way. I still had to lightly spread the chocolate out to get the whole thing covered, but it now looks like the picture.
