Bread Machine Wheat Rolls

This is my favorite go-to bread machine roll recipe.  I love using my bread machine to make any kind of bread or roll.  You use the "dough" cycle which does all the mixing for you and even takes care of the first rising.  From there it only takes minutes to finish up these fluffy part wheat dinner rolls!

Follow along and I'll show you how easy it is to make these easy, delicious dinner rolls:

Bread Machine Wheat Rolls
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon water
3 eggs
1/4 cup butter, cut up
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon sugar

In the order listed add all ingredients EXCEPT for the last two.  I know the water measurements seem silly, but trust me, it works!  If your bread machine recommends you add the ingredients in a different order you may want to follow the directions of your machine.
Set bread machine to the dough only cycle.

When cycle is done, remove dough to a lightly floured surface.
Divide the dough into 12 equal portions.  The easiest way is to cut the dough in half, then each section in half again, and then each section into thirds.  This should give you 12 similar sized rolls.
Place rolls in a lightly greased 3x9-inch pan and cover.  Let rise in a warm place for 20-30 minutes or until doubled in size.
In a small bowl combine the 1 remaining egg and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Brush egg mixture over the rolls.  Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 12-14 minutes or until golden on tops.
Enjoy!  Best served warm.

Ashleigh, I'm pretty sure these would turn out great without a bread machine too. You would just have to do the work yourself and allow time for rising. Plus a stand mixer with a dough hook would be best to do the mixing for you. Maybe sometime I'll make these by hand and see how they turn out :)
